We successfully represented a client in a case of contesting procurement for award of regional public transport service contracts
Ellex Klavins successfully represented SIA "Gulbenes autobuss" and SIA "Balvu autotransports" in a case of the Procurement Monitoring Bureau (PMB) regarding a tender for regional passenger carriage organized by the Road Transport Directorate.

Having reviewed the complaints about the tender of the Road Transport Directorate for provision of public transport services in a network of regional routes, PMB has prohibited awarding of contracts in seven lots.

We advised Avation PLC on aircraft lease financing to airBaltic
Ellex Klavins advised Avation PLC in negotiating an operating lease agreement for two Bombardier aircraft with airBaltic Corporation (airBaltic) which is the flag carrier of Latvia with current fleet of 39 aircrafts that continues to expand. Avation engaged a Latvian counsel to advise on matters relating to the lease of the aircrafts. In addition to be the local legal counsel, we assisted with the financing side for the lender and local security over the aircraft as well.

We advised one of the largest carriers in a transport insurance dispute before the Norwegian court
Successfully assisting the client - one of the largest Latvian carriers in the civil proceedings before Oslo Conciliation Board (Forliksrådet i Oslo). The claim against the client was brought before the Norwegian court as a recourse claim in relation to a transportation services that were provided by our client. The claimants argued that the client had failed to properly undergo the customs procedures that resulted in a fine being imposed by the customs authorities. The claimants sought reimbursement of the imposed fine against the client.
