Associate Pauls Ančs specialises in issues related to the EU market freedoms for goods and services. The main activity fields for Pauls are online trading, digital services, unfair commercial practices, advertising, consumer rights and product safety. He represents clients in communication and disputes with business partners as well as regulatory authorities in areas that require product-specific legal knowledge. Pauls is looking forward to year 2022 when the Omnibus Directive and other directives related to the New Deal for Consumers will become effective.
As an expert from Latvia, Pauls has participated in a project by the European Commission, which resulted in the creation of a useful tool for both the industry and consumers – an EU-wide, multi-lingual database of legal acts, case law, legal doctrine and other materials related to 11 of the most significant EU directives on consumer protection, from each of the EU member states.
